Native speakers of American English please. For the 10 sentences in this HIT, select the best meaning of the word in boldface. Each sentence is followed by the same list of meanings to choose from. There are between 90 and 100 HITs for this same word, same list of meanings. In all, we plan to post equivalent numbers of HITs for 38 words. The data from these HITs will be used for research on how word meaning varies with context, and will become part of an open resource.
